A few people have sent me this super interesting article on identical twins, and nature vs nurture vs epigenetics. Incidentally, this also reminds me how much I loved National Geographic as a kid, and kinda makes me want to subscribe to it again.

I'm currently reading The Gunslinger for the first time. I love me some Stephen King, so why have I never read this series before? Also, why aren't they making this into a movie with Viggo Mortensen as Roland? (By the way, have you heard that Ben Affleck will be directing The Stand? I don't know how I feel about this. On one hand, Gone Baby Gone was excellent. On the other hand...IT'S BEN AFFLECK.)
Oh my goodness I'm so excited you're reading the Gunslinger!!! I am a MEAN Mr King fan, and that series is possibly my favorite of all time. You will LOVE. Promise.
ReplyDeleteThe idea has been floated for a part-movie part-series epic rendition with Ron Howard at the helm, but I think it's been canned due to cost. There's current talk of HBO making a mini-series out of it. When they had the movie/series epic version going, gulp, Javier Bardem was offered the role of Roland.

@JM I am really loving it so far - I've nearly finished the first book! Also, there is NO WAY Javier Bardem could play Roland (I stick by my Viggo suggestion), and I'm immensely skeptical about Ron Howard directing. His movies are all too...happy. :P I don't know who I'd pick to direct though - Guillermo Del Toro, maybe?
