Five things

THE HUNGER GAMES MOVIE TRAILER! WOOOOHOOOOOO! And now that I've gotten that out of my system, did you know that China Glaze is releasing a nail polish collection themed around the series? Intriguing, but I think I prefer OPI's Muppet collection. Gonzo is the man.

Speaking of movies, I'm thoroughly enjoying the fan art of posters for the new Arrested Development movie (can I get another wooohoooooo for that, by the way?), like so and so. I may need that Jaws poster.

I have a huge girlcrush on Tanesha over at Girl With Curves. She's so gorgeous and put together, and can layer clothes like a mofo. I, on the other hand, inevitably look homeless.

There's a list at Flavorwire of fake books from fiction that we wish existed. It's a good list (especially for the inclusion of the "original" edition of The Princess Bride), but I've got to agree with a number of comments asking why they didn't include the Guide from The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. Kind of obvious, no?

In real book news, I just read The Sixth Key, which was...just OK. Not really my preferred genre. Anyway, the good thing that came out of it was that I was introduced to Otto Rahn, who is both utterly fascinating and the likely inspiration for Indiana Jones. How had I never heard of this guy before? I now need to find this documentary about him, because I am nothing if not a huge docu-nerd.

2 shout-outs:

  1. So I watched the trailed tonight and god help me if I didn't start crying after the first few seconds. Yeah, I'm an emotional wreck, generally speaking, but, yeah... That was even a record for me. CAN'T WAIT.

Also? I'm reading Divergent right now because it's supposed to be as good as HG. Not so much, so far. But maybe eventually. Have you read it? Thoughts?

  2. Oh good it wasn't just me! I got a little choked up and thought, "WTF? I didn't even get emotional during the book!" :P

I haven't read Divergent yet - off to look it up!
