Will and Dash are on the big screen! It's a major production - a cast of thousands, an epic story, flashy special effects, plus a custom soundtrack featuring today's most popular musicians!

Or it's just a YouTube video of my kids playing with blocks that I recorded for the grandparents in the States.

But it does have a title card! And subtitles! And their own super dodgy production company! And so I present to you...BABYZILLAS:

My girl Erica over at And Baby Makes Four posted about her favorite words recently and I'm shamelessly stealing it, mostly since it saves me having to come up with anything original or creative on my own.

And my #1 favorite of all time: onomatopoeia, which is both fun to say and has one of those kickass definitions that make you go, "Oh, there's actually a word to describe that?" It's so awesome it should be German, since those folks get all the best words (and beer, but that's another post).

Aussies like to yank tourists' chains by intentionally playing up the stereotyped view of Australia. Bird eating spiders in the backyard! Deadly snakes hanging out everywhere! Kangaroos jumping down the street! Drop bears ripping your face off!

It's all complete bullshit of course.

Well mostly. Except for the deadly snake - that was at work last year. And the spiders, those were in the news a few times. The drop bears really are fake though.

And the kangaroos? You only see them in country towns, and even then they generally tend to stay away from humans. Except occasionally. Like this morning.

 Blurry cell phone pics ahoy!

That is a big ass kangaroo hopping down the sidewalk between the parking lot and my work. My reaction was three parts "Awesome!" one part "WTF?" and one part, "Wait a minute that is a 5+ foot tall roo and they can be pretty freaking aggressive if cornered and have toenails like switchblades and a truck is passing by and scaring it and now it's heading RIGHT.TOWARD.ME."

Still pretty cool though - am I right?

1. You all know how I feel about s'mores. And now someone has invented a s'more pop. I may need to try this.

2. I like Scott Adams's idea for a National Discard Day: "In December, people say 'Happy holidays!' and 'Happy New Year!' In June, around National Discard Day, you might hear something more along the lines of 'Lose the Crocs, dipshit. You're not Woody Harrelson.' National Discard Day would be cruel but practical."

3. I have absolutely no idea what to buy my mother for Christmas this year. Help me out - what are you getting yours?
