Tea party

After reading my girl ljkc's fab post about Walt Disney World today, I took a little walk down memory lane. My dad has worked for the Mouse since I was a little girl, meaning that I basically grew up at Disneyland. Which was truly as awesome as it sounds, and means that to this day I hold a perverse love for the Park. And for one ride in particular - my favorite since childhood - the Mad Tea Party:

Ta-da! Isn't it fabulous?

OK, just kidding. That's the weird ripoff they had at the Easter show this year. So now, for your viewing enjoyment, here is a genuine vintage photo of the authentic Tea Party, circa the 1980's:

I had a thing for getting dizzy. I was the weird kid who would spin around in circles until I fell down. I hope you can still love me.

The ridiculously adorable child on the right, who will obviously mature into a woman so stunning that grown men faint at the sight of her, is moi. And aside from eight fewer inches of hair and oh, one or two extra pounds, that's pretty much still what I look like when I go on that ride. Because it is The Awesome. As is the rest of the Park.

2 shout-outs:

  1. I WAS A DIZZY-SPINNER TOO! As in furious twists and turns, standing in my parents' living room as a child, round and round and round until I plopped on the couch and my brain swirled..

    *sigh*
    You, like, complete me.

  2. What an awesome pic! LOVES! I love Disneyland too! My fav ride is Peter Pan! We try to go every 2-3 years.
