That's apparently the message the LA County Registrar of Voters is sending me, since I still haven't received my absentee ballot for the election tomorrow. (Have you heard there's an election, btw? I think it's some kind of big deal or something.) I sent in my registration form months ago, so they've had plenty of time to process it and mail me my ballot, but nope - no vote for me.
I'm pretty bummed about this, since it's the first election I've really been interested in since I came of voting age (which was nine rather long years ago). I've always voted, since I think it's a civic privilege that you'd be foolish to squander, but I'll be honest: I was never really into it. This year, though...this was different. Important.
So who would I have voted for, had my ballot arrived? I think this sums it up nicely:
P.S. I'm also sorry that I lost the opportunity to vote NO on Prop 8. Ri-damn-diculous that it was even submitted. Marital legislation should be about protecting the rights of all citizens equally, not enforcing discrimination.
